Dr. Davis Wood, Veterinarian, Mulberry Lane Pet Wellness

Dr. Davis Wood, DVM
Principal and Veterinarian

Dr. Davis Wood has always had a love for science and animals since he was a young boy, but he didn’t take a direct path into veterinary medicine. Originally from Montreal, Quebec, he studied East Asian and religious studies at McGill University. Dr. Wood received his Bachelor of Arts and planned to pursue graduate studies.

He decided to change his career path because there was a strong pull to get back into the sciences to become a veterinarian. He completed a Bachelor of Science in animal biology at McGill and went on to study veterinary medicine at the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph in Ontario and graduated in 2014.

  • Dr. Wood has practiced small animal veterinary medicine and surgery at busy hospitals in Montreal and Vancouver. His responsibilities ranged from annual wellness consultations and internal medicine to pain management and emergency surgery.

In 2022, Dr. Wood was one of only six vets in Canada to be Human-Animal Bond certified.

Mulberry Lane was established because we wanted the practice to be more personalized and extend beyond veterinary medical care to include the human-animal bond — in a low-stress environment.

Dr. Wood moved to Vancouver in 2016 and loves living on the beautiful, rainy west coast. He enjoys getting out into nature, practicing yoga, reading non-fiction, meditating, and spending time with his family. He speaks English, French and Japanese.
