FAQs

  • Mulberry Lane In-home Veterinary Care is the only Human-Animal Bond certified mobile vet practice in western Canada.

According to the Human Animal Bond Research Institute (HABRI), the human-animal bond is: “A mutually beneficial and dynamic relationship between people and animals influenced by behaviours essential to the health and well-being of both. The behaviours include emotional, psychological, and physical interactions of people, animals, and the environment.”

  • In addition to providing veterinary medical care, we place a focus on the attachment you form with your pet and consider their emotional well-being, not just their physical well-being.

The benefit to you and your pet is a veterinary experience with compassion, empathy and respectful care. We work together to make the best decisions for your pet.

  • A Fear Free® helps to prevent and alleviate fear, anxiety, and stress in pets. It is founded on the science of behaviour and backed by leading experts in the areas of veterinary behaviour, medicine, and handling.

We understand a veterinary visit can be stressful for pets. We emphasize low-stress handling and use behaviour-centred handling techniques to reduce fear, anxiety and stress in pets. We hold each pet’s emotional and physical well-being in mind while we care for them. We can’t treat one without the other.

  • There’s more to in-home veterinary visits than just convenience. It’s important we meet pets where they are — in the comfort of their own home — and interact in a way that allows them to feel safe in a familiar environment.

  • We understand that cost may be a big part of your decision-making process.

When selecting a veterinary practice, it’s vital to know what is important to you and your pet because pricing may affect the quality of care you receive.

Some questions to ask yourself include:

    • Is the convenience and flexibility of an in-home consultation important to me and my pet?

    • How do I feel about the practice ethos?

    • Is my pet’s emotional well-being an important part of my pet’s overall care?

    • How much time will my pet and I be spending with the veterinarian?

    • Is in-home veterinary care important to me?

If you’re interested in an in-home visit, contact us.

Calmer pets pose fewer risks to themselves, caregivers and the veterinary team.

We suggest caregivers purchase pet insurance to cover medical emergencies. Medical insurance for pets help to protect your finances while giving your pet the care they need for unexpected injuries and illnesses. It’s there to help with the high-cost of emergency and specialized care should your pet need it.
